Summary:
Tiku Weds Sheru is a Bollywood romantic drama film directed by Sai Kabir and written by Amit Tiwari Anand and Sai Kabir. It is produced by Kangana Ranaut under her banner Manikarnika Films Production. The movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in the lead roles.
The film revolves around the lives of Sheru and Tiku, who come from marginalized backgrounds in the underprivileged strata of society. Sheru, also known as Shiraz, is from Bhopal, a small town in India. He moves to Mumbai in search of a better life. Despite being semi-literate, Sheru works as a pimp for a local gangster named Shahid Bhai. Additionally, he works as a junior artist as a cover, helping Shahid find girls for his illegal business. Sheru dreams of earning enough trust from his boss to be promoted as an equal partner.
On the other hand, Tiku, whose real name is Taslim, belongs to a large conservative Muslim family in Bhopal. She yearns for freedom and runs away to Delhi under the pretense of pursuing higher studies. In Delhi, she falls in love with a man from a different religion. However, her family arranges her marriage to Sheru, the first eligible bachelor they find. Sheru agrees to the proposal out of desperation to repay a loan, while Tiku sees him as her means of escaping her family’s control.
As their lives intertwine, Sheru develops genuine feelings for Tiku. However, they find themselves caught in the midst of the chaotic underworld, drugs, and romantic entanglements. They face one tragedy after another, leaving them with little time to cope with their sorrows.
Tiku Weds Sheru explores the struggles and aspirations of the two central characters as they navigate their way through a challenging and often dangerous world. The film delves into themes of love, ambition, and the pursuit of a better life while also highlighting the complexities of societal expectations and the consequences of making difficult choices.
